SAY NO TO DOUCHING

Your vagina has a remarkable ability to self-clean so avoid douching. Restrict the use of soaps and perfumes as they only compound the problem of dryness. Wash your vaginal area with warm water and a very mild soap. Do not douche or insert any spray inside your vagina.

USE LUBRICANTS

TAMPONS

Stick to sanitary pads during your period. Tampons strip the vagina of its natural moisture and make your vagina very dry.

KEGELS

Kegels are pelvic floor exercises that help retain the elasticity of the vagina. Do these on a regular basis. They promote blood circulation to your vaginal area and also enhance lubrication.

HORMONAL REPLACEMENT

Women approaching menopause often complain of severe vaginal dryness. This is due to the decreasing levels of the hormone oestrogen. Women undergoing menopause can take recourse to hormone therapy. This helps increase oestrogen levels and also has a positive effect on vaginal lubrication.

FRUITS

Eat a diet rich in fruits like citrus fruits and pineapple. These restore the ph balance of the vagina ad keep it well lubricated and moisturized. Fruits also keep a host of diseases at bay.
