GINGER


The best treatment for phlegm is ginger extract. In order to get the ginger extract you just need to steep some pieces of ginger with water, so that water absorbs the extract. When the water thickens a little, add a few drops of honey and drink it. Ginger helps you get rid of sore throat and phlegm.You need to drink this infusion at least 4-5 times a day to get relief. In case the phlegm is thick and excess, you can add more honey and ginger. To make it even more effective you can add some fresh lemon juice to this infusion, as it will help to get rid of the thick phlegm at the back of the throat.

BASIL DECOCTION


Basil is a great natural remedy for phlegm. Just take about twenty to thirty basil leaves, which are fresh and add a little pepper that is well crushed. To this, add about a teaspoon of smashed ginger and water.
Allow this mixture to boil for 10 – 15 minutes. Let it rest for some time and then filter it. Add a few drops of honey for a sweet touch. Drink quarter cup of this infusion twice or thrice a day to achieve the desired result.

GARLIC


Garlic is a potent antibiotic and an expectorant, which has been used from ages. Take a garlic clove and consume it along with milk every morning to get relief from this condition. The warming quality of garlic is a great way to get rid of phlegm.The warmth of garlic extract helps in loosening the phlegm, which is formed in the throat and chest. You can also consume raw garlic with warm water, which helps in expelling the mucous, which is thick. Garlic can be consumed in the night before going to bed.

LICORICE


The best remedy for phlegm and sore throat is an infusion made of licorice root and granulated sugar. Due to constant coughing, the throat tends to become sore. This infusion not only helps you get rid of phlegm, but it is also effective in treating sore throat associated with phlegm.

EUCALYPTUS
