It occurs mostly in babies, small children and older adults. HERBAL REMEDIES FOR DEHYDRATION
Chamomile
Always have decaffeinated teas, as they help to replace the fluids lost due to dehydration. Take some (2-3 teaspoons) dried chamomile flowers in a cup of hot water and then let it steep for 10 minutes. After that strain it well and then drink it. Have 3-4 cups of chamomile tea every day.
Elderflower
Take some elder flower and crush them into fine powder. Then have 1-2 teaspoons along with some water at least 2 times every day. You can also make a herbal tea of elderflower by taking some (3-5 gram) dried elderflower in 1 cup of water then boil it and let it steep for 10-15 minutes.Then you should strain it and drink it. Have 2-3 cups of this herbal tea every day aselderflower is very effective in reducing the temperature, thus reducing symptoms of dehydration.
Ginger
Take dry ginger (½ teaspoon) in 1 cup of buttermilk and mix them well. Have this 3-4 times every day. You can also have ginger tea 2-3 cup every day. Take a ginger root, peel the skin, and slice the root into small pieces.Then place these pieces in a small cup of water, heat it and let it steep for sometime (15 minutes). Then strain it and drink it. You can also take ginger in the form of capsule but you should always consult a doctor before doing that.
Willow Bark
Take a cup of water, heat it and when it starts to boil, add some (1-2 teaspoons) dried willow bark to it. Then allow the water and the bark to simmer for at least 15 minutes. After that steep it for 25-30 minutes, strain it and then drink it. You should have this tea of willow bark 3-4 times every day.Having it in the morning and afternoon is mostly preferred. You can also take powdered willow bark (60-240 mg) every day. Willow bark thus is considered to be a very good herbal remedy because it reduces the temperature and headache which are associated with dehydration.
Drink Barley Water
Barley water doesn’t only help to prevent dehydration but is also extremely beneficial for maintaining the metabolism of the body. It helps to replenish the minerals and salts which are lost due to dehydration. It also helps to prevent excess urination, sweat and occurrence of fever.You should try to have atleast 4 glasses of barley water everyday in order to prevent dehydration. So as you can see, getting rid of dehydration is not that difficult and by following the above mentioned 5 herbal remedies you can easily get good results within a very short time.
